Audit statements

A one-page statement per contract and period that ties every true-up figure to a clause in the order form. Share it as a PDF, CSV or expiring link.

On this page

A statement is what you hand a customer's finance team when they ask why an overage is what it is: the terms in force with their clause references, usage by metric, free allowance, the drawdown, tier pricing, any adjustments to earlier periods, and what carries forward.

Creating a statement

Open a contract and choose Statement next to a period in its ledger. The period needs a line from a close run first. Every statement you create is listed under Statements.

  • It is built from the stored line versions, so regenerating an old statement gives the identical document.
  • The rounding rule, the time zone for usage dates and the engine version are printed on every statement.

PDF and CSV

On the statement, Download PDF gives a print-ready copy with page numbers, named after the account ID and period (for example TrueUpp-statement-2077-2026-07-01.pdf). CSV gives the same content as rows of section, item, value and clause reference, for anyone who wants to check the figures in a spreadsheet.

Instead of attaching a file, you can send the customer a read-only link to one statement. Admins and approvers create links from the Share with the customer panel on the statement.

  • Expiry. A link works for 30 days by default. You can choose anything from 1 to 90 days when you create it.
  • Shown once. Copy the link when it appears; TrueUpp doesn't show it again. Creating a new link replaces the old one, which stops working.
  • Revoke. Revoke link stops it working straight away. After expiry or revocation, the page says the link has expired and asks the reader to request a new one.
  • What the reader sees. Only this statement, with your workspace name and a Download PDF button. No sign-in is needed, and nothing else in your workspace is reachable from the link.
  • Never indexed. Shared statements tell search engines not to index or follow them, and they are excluded from crawling.

Creating and revoking links are both recorded in the audit log.

Statements carry a small "Prepared with TrueUpp" line in the footer, on screen, in the PDF and on shared links. On Growth and Scale, an admin can turn it off under Settings › General; on Starter it stays on. See plans and billing.

The sample-month clause

From a contract's terms, TrueUpp generates a worked example for the order form, with the rollover cap basis spelled out in numbers and the rule for failed requests and retries. A worked month agreed at signature heads off most disputes. Open a contract and choose Sample-month clause, set the credits used in the example, and copy the wording. The clause never includes the customer's label.
